PROGRAM MILESTONES

ENTRY LEVEL & ENTRY LEVEL NON-EXPERIENCED

Minimum Class Hours
50 hours

Range of OJT Hours (under the supervision of a certified technician)
650-1,000 hours (3-6 months)

Outcome
Basic understanding of tools & equipment. Understanding of basic automotive tasks; Express qualified.

LEVEL II

Minimum Class Hours
144 hours

Range of OJT Hours (under the supervision of a certified technician)
2,000-4,000 hours (1-2 years)

Outcome
Manufacture certifications. Apprentice will have competency & knowledge development of brand specific work. Able to perform basic warranty work.

LEVEL III

Minimum Class Hours
288 hours

Range of OJT Hours (under the supervision of a certified technician)
1,000-2,000 hours (6 months-1 year)

Outcome
Certified in brand specific warranty work with possible ASE certifications. Ability to diagnose automotive problems; B level tech equivalent. Completion of program.

MASTER APPRENTICE CERTIFICATION (OPTIONAL)

Minimum Class Hours
288 hours

Range of OJT Hours (under the supervision of a certified technician)
1,000-2,000 hours (6 months-1 year)

Outcome
ASE certifications for specific expertise (diesel, transmission, electrical etc…)
